Head on to the calm, unpopulated state of Wyoming. Take a 10-minute drive from Jackson Airport to Jackson Hole, where Amangani, a luxury mountain resort, is ready to give you an experience of a lifetime.
Amangani is part of the Aman Resorts group and is the first branch and one in North America. It's just a short distance drive from the Jackson Airport and sits on the crest of East Gros Ventre Butte, with phenomenal views of the Teton Mountains and the Snake River Valley.
Amangani derives its name from Sanskrit words, aman for "peace" and gani for "home." It lives up to its name because it's perched in a remote town far away from the hustle and bustle. Peace takes center stage and is the attraction in and out of itself.
Every Aman property reflects the environment it sits in, and Amangani, of course, is no different. Because the resort perches on a secluded area, surrounded by nature, the inspiration is simply nature - the greens, the browns, and the like. Amangani is primarily designed from soft-hued Oklahoma sandstone, Douglas redwood, and cedar.
As you step into the pitch-roofed lobby, redwood beams, flagstone floors, deep leather, and faux-fur furnishings will be the design highlights. Further complementing this are the modern artworks and beautifully crafted Native American artifacts. The muted, soft lights purposely highlight the mountains and meadows' view through large triple-height windows. Everything comes together in a homely ambiance.
Rooms and Suites
Amangani's charming and very friendly staff escort arriving guests straight up to their rooms, cladded with dark wood railings. All of the 40 rooms and suites, including two Amangani suites and the Grand Teton suit, are in perfect shape and share a common aesthetic wood.
Wood is the center point in every room and mostly what you'll see when you step in. It's accompanied by its perfect design matches, stone, and slate. The low-slung king-size beds, comfy seating areas comprising woven cowhide chairs in faux wolf fabric, and a gas-flame fire pit bring out the cozy ambiance you'll want to lose yourself in.
Floor-to-ceiling windows lead outside to a beautiful private terrace — balconies in some — where you can soak up views of the Teton Pass and faraway Grand Teton National Park. A flat-screen TV and DVD player along with a minibar promises you'll never be out of fun activities while in this secluded luxury resort.
The bathroom is another ensemble of its own, containing deep soaking bathtubs set right at the window, so you have a stunning view while you relax. Walk-in showers are also a key element of shower rooms.
Amangani Dining
Though there's only one restaurant to satisfy your cravings, it is still the epitome of fine dining. The Grill at Amangani, with its wood-style cabin decor, serves a rich breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu of typical American cuisine with a regional twist.
Sustainable meat, fresh fish, and farm produce are sourced from local ranches to authentic taste to your meals. For guests who feel that dining in the dining room might not quite do, there's room to make reservations for picnic lunches outdoors.
There's also the room service option for those wanting to enjoy a combo of exquisite dining with a view from their window. The bar serves drinks and cocktails where guests can sip or slurp up drinks at the cozy seating area by the open fireplace.
