This is my favorite way to grill steaks on the Big Green Egg. Watch this short video to learn how. You'll also see me take a flame to the arm. Gotta be careful with those high temps!
Bring Egg to about 650 degrees on direct heat. Grill 2 minutes on a side. Flip back over and close off the Egg, which will bring the temperature down. Grill for 3:30 to 4 minutes or so, depending on preference. On this think filet, it was still relatively pink after 4 minutes. Let stand under foil for 4 minutes. I also melted homemade garlic butter over the top once the steak was off the grill. Perfection.
