The ATP Masters 1000 is a series of nine tennis tournaments that are part of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Tour. These tournaments are considered among the most prestigious events in men's tennis, just below the Grand Slam tournaments. The "1000" in the name refers to the number of ATP ranking points that the winner of each tournament earns.

The concept of the ATP Masters Series was introduced in 1990. Initially, there were six tournaments in the series. The series expanded over the years, and in 2009, it was renamed the ATP World Tour Masters 1000. The number of tournaments was increased to nine.
The ATP Masters 1000 tournaments are held in key cities around the world. These cities include Indian Wells, Miami, Monte Carlo, Madrid, Rome, Toronto/Montreal (alternating), Cincinnati, Shanghai, and Paris.
Matches in the ATP Masters 1000 series are typically best-of-three sets, except for the finals, which are best-of-five sets.
Golden Masters: Winning all nine ATP Masters 1000 tournaments during a player's career is known as achieving the "Golden Masters." Novak Djokovic is the only player to have achieved this feat and did it twice.
