DISTRONIC PLUS Cruise control has been around for a while now, and is a very useful feature that came on a wide variety of Mercedes-Benz models. It allows you to set the speed control to a number you're happy with, and set the distance between you and the car in front of you. Your Benz will then maintain that distance, and adjust your speed for traffic all the way down to zero, if necessary. This makes navigating the stop-and-go traffic on a rush hour Interstate far less taxing on your nerves and much safer overall.
This is a real world demonstration on I-75 using a 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 S AMG Coupe, and would work the same in any Mercedes-Benz equipped with the same system.
