This summer, a series of TikToks featuring young English influencers removing studded masks went viral. They were announcing the lineup for “The Wave House”, a new kind of TikTok house where the stars would lark around their rented £5m mansion with a limitless budget for extra features, including a water park, a blow-up assault course and Batmobiles.
But during a pandemic in which so many people have lost jobs, some wondered if it was a little insensitive to flex all that money. And it also begged another question: how were they paying for it? We went to meet The Wave House to find out.
