Combining two or more stages of work in one machine provides significant savings potential.

In the Unimat 09-475/4S N-Dynamic, we combined a universal tamping machine and supply of new ballast for the first time – with resounding success.

During turnout maintenance, no separate ballast is needed. As a result, it is no longer necessary to pre-deposit ballast during additional track possessions.

In the hopper of a MFS 100 about 60 tonnes of track ballast can be stored.

The ballast is placed exactly where it is needed according to the lifting values of the tamping machine. This is performed immediately prior to tamping works and enables compliance with the regulation for high-speed lines that prohibits pre-depositing ballast.

Work is performed faster and with higher quality.

This is what has distinguished machines made by Plasser & Theurer for decades.
