Hi friends,Today I am taking to you all for a short tour to the major places in Manali which I covered in three days.
The best months to visit Manali are from March through June. But if you're interested to witness the snowfall, the period from December to February would be ideal. The monsoon season must be avoided as there are chances for landslides.
Coming back to our 3 days plan at manali,
On day 1 , i planned to visit major attractions at old manali. I decided to book my stay at mall road and my old manali exploration started from Hidimba temple.
Hadimba temple:
This ancient shrine was built by Maharaja Bahadur Singh way back in 1553. As the name suggests, the temple is dedicated to Hidimba Devi, wife of Bheema. The wooden architecture of the shrine is very distinct from most Hindu temples you will come across in the country.
From here, i walked towards manu temple which is around 1.5 km away.
Manu temple is said to be the only temple dedicated to Manu in India, who is believed to be the creator of human race. This Pagoda style of structure offers quite a glimpse into history, spirituality as well as a fascinating style of architecture.
Old Manali refers to the more antiquated part of the town. Here, visitors can wander around the streets and catch vignettes of a bygone age, when Manali was a sleepy pilgrimage town before the backpackers arrived. Old Manali offers some of the best views in the region because of the forests and apple orchards around the settlement.
Another place u can explore in old manali is Van vihar.Van Vihar is a public park complete with lushness and sky touching deodar trees.
Now its time for me to reveal about mall road.
Often acknowledged as the heart of Manali, the Mall Road in Manali is the most attractive tourist destination for the Himachal travelers. It is renowned for its street shopping adventure and bustled heap of activities, the Mall Road of Manali has got a lot of things to keep you busy for the day. Lined with multiple restaurants, cafes, and dhabas, this place is ideal for those who have got a flavor of bargaining skills deeply rooted in them.
Day 2 we decided to visit Rohtang pass.
We had arranged a cab for our day 2 trip which covers Rohtang pass, Spoti valley, Atal Tunnel, Solang valley and some breath taking sight seeings. Dedicate a day in your Manali itinerary to visit Rohtang Pass and you will not regret it.
Located at an elevation of 4000 meters above the sea level, this high mountain pass on the Pir Panjal Range will leave you breathless. In addition to being a favorite hub for nature lovers, artists, and photographers for generations, Rohtang Pass is also a haven for adventure activities like mountain biking and skiing.
Atal Tunnel is a horseshoe-shaped highway tunnel that connects Manali and the Spiti valley, reducing the time taken by around 4-5 hours. This tunnel is the world’s longest one above 10,000 feet and is constructed in the Pir Panjal ranges, under the Rohtang Pass.
Solang valley is a haven for adventure and sports lovers. If you are looking for snow-based activities and sports, winters are the best time to visit while the months of summer are ideal for other adventure sports.
The Day 3 we planned to visit Vashist Temple and have a small trek from there to visit one of the beautiful water falls: Jogini falls.
Vashist temple is a place of great spiritual importance, Vashisht village is home to a beautiful temple set amidst the dramatic Himalayan topography. It is believed that the temple has a history of more than 4000 years and the interiors of the shrine feature wooden carvings, antique figures, and paintings. What makes this destination even more unique is the presence of hot springs that are believed to hold healing properties.
The rushing cascades of Jogini Falls are a 2km away from Vashist temple. The trail that leads to the waterfall is scenic and gives you a glimpse of the River Beas and the snow-capped peaks of Rohtang. An early start is recommended so that you can spend more time at this natural spot, which is one of the top trekking as well as picnic a destination at Manali.
Will come back soon with the detail video of the above destinations .. stay tuned and thankyou for watching
