Not everyday jollof! I hadn't had Asun in so many years and the penny dropped when I realised I could actually try making it myself.
Fo those who aren't aware of one the golden nuggets on Nigeria, Asun is a barbecued & steamed style goal meat street food snack drenched in a lots of flavour and hot cilli spice. Intense flavours from the smoked goat meat and rendered fat from the skin all come together to form a chewy goodness. Wash down with a nice cold beer or malt drink.
Not exactly one to one to what I would normally find in Nigeria but it tasted close enough and boy was it good.
