Polishing And Bluing Watch Screws
Today I will show you the traditional procedure of polishing and thermal bluing of wristwatch/pocket watch screws.
These particular screws belong to a pocket watch which I am restoring currently. The video for the restoration of the pocket watch will follow soon.
For polishing the screw heads I am using an old Lorch Schmidt & Co. polishing machine. It is more a tool than a machine, but this is the original naming in German: Schraubenkopfpoliermaschine, meaning screw head polishing machine. This machine was released at the beginning of the 1900s.
After polishing and cleaning I am going to thermally treat the screws in different shades. Purple, blue and grey. I for myself like the purple color best 😊
