A writers' awareness campaign went viral on LinkedIn on 11 June. A substantial number of content writers and copywriters wrote and published the same post, demanding fair compensation for their services from employers and more importantly freelance clients and middlemen.
The campaign was planned and initiated by popular copywriting influencer Muhammad Sami Uddin, who carefully wrote the post and encouraged his followers to assist him in it for the benefit of the writing industry in Pakistan. The campaign was a massive hit on LinkedIn, receiving attention from international writers predominantly from India, as some Indian writers also published the post.
However, the post also received some criticism from many writers.
The questions are: Was it impactful? Would it succeed in persuading employers or clients in paying a better compensation to writers? What are the objections of fellow writers? How can writers react to the criticism by these writers?
Let's analyze the 11 June campaign with our guests, Muhammad Sami Uddin and Taiba Anwer, two popular copywriting influencers on LinkedIn.
