Rachmaninov Prelude C# Minor

I spent some time this morning practicing parts of Rachmaninov’s Prelude in C sharp minor, a beautiful dramatic piece which I urge you to go listen to if you have any free time.

I recorded the practice session in order to show the process I used and an example of how to approach practice with tips on breaking things down into their simplest parts and building up to hands together, all while listening out for any trouble spots.

If you’re learning to play the piano, I hope this video is useful for you, even if just to give some insight into what piano practice really looks like, frustrations and all. Perseverance is the key and to have the self belief to know you can do it and that you will make progress.
