In the 1965 film “The sound of Music”, the music score was by Richard Rogers and Oscar Hammerstein. The film is based on the memories of Maria Von Trapp, from the book: The Story of the Von Trapp Family Singers. Many of the songs in the film became hits such as: Edelweiss, My Favorite Things, Climb every mountain, Do-Re-Mi and of course the legendary music theme, The Sound of Music. The film won 6 OSCAR awards and was the latest musical written by Rogers & Hammerstein. Hammerstein died 9 months after the play premiered on Broadway. The song entitled Edelweiss (it is a beautiful flower that grows in the Austrian Alps), is played here by Antonis Tzelepis, in his own special way. . .
