Join Rushana and Abraham, mother and son duo, as they share a Tatar recipe for Zur Belish, as well as stories and traditions of Rushana's hometown in Tatarstan!
This video is part of an at-home cooking series hosted by pairs of community members across generations, from several different ethnicities. The series is organized by the Food Storytelling Collective, which is here to inspire conversations on traditional dishes and their rich legacies. Together, we'll learn how to make traditional dishes, learn more about our food systems, and celebrate the resilience of different communities through family stories.
Rushana Rakhimova was born in Tatarstan. She is a nurse who honors her culture, language, and traditions by passing them onto her three-year old son, Abraham.
