So, how did I handle my first kid heading off to college? Well, let’s just say there were tears—mine, not theirs.
I became an empty nester last year, and while my heart was bursting with pride, it was also breaking just a little. Why? Because I lucked out—I don’t just love my kids, I actually *like* them.
These humans aren’t just my children; they’re my favorite partners-in-crime. Watching them soar was amazing, but losing my daily hangouts with my best buddies? Not so much.
But hey, this just means I get to pester them with way too many texts and surprise visits, right?
How did you handle it when your kids when off to college?
