How to Reset Amazon Echo or Dot (2nd Gen) to Factory Defaults
Step 1: Deregister
Log in to to Amazon
Click on your Name...Accounts & Lists (where you manage things)
Scroll down and click 'Your Content & Devices'
Click on the Middle Tab, 'Your Devices'
Click on the Device
Click the Dropdown menu and select 'Deregister'
Step 2: Reset Amazon Echo or Dot (2nd Gen):
With device plugged in
Press and hold the Microphone off and Volume down buttons at the same time until the light ring turns orange (about 20 seconds).
The light ring turns blue.
Wait for the light ring to turn off and on again. The light ring then turns orange again, and your device enters setup mode.
The device is ready for setup with the Amazon Alexa App
