(11 Feb 2015) Cuba's President Raul Castro met with Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday in the capital Havana.
Erdogan was on a two-day visit to the Caribbean nation that includes discussions with top Cuban officials about trade and bilateral relations.
Erdogan participated in a wreath laying ceremony at the monument to Cuban independence hero Jose Marti.
Later, the two presidents sat down for talks at the Revolution Palace.
Erdogan was expected to sign a cultural exchange agreement with Cuba during the visit and explore opportunities to increase trade between the two countries, according to Turkish officials.
The Turkish leader is conducting a tour through Latin America that will take him to Mexico later in the week. He has already visited Colombia.
