South Sudan's Parliament passes historic National Security Act Ammendent 2024.
The passage of the bill allows the NSS Extensive powers including the ability to arrest and detin individuals without a warrant.
A critical part of the debate focused on Articles 54 and 55 of the National Security Bill.
The resolution was centered on Articles 54 and 55, which are now amended. By the vote, 274 in favor, 114 against, and three
abstentions, they were voting for the inclusion of Sections 54 and 55.
So the whole National Security Service Bill is passed in totality with all the sections and articles as presented, including 54 and 55,"
