As per China's estimates, around 37 million people got infected with COVID-19 in a single day. This is the highest number of cases in one day so far. As many as 248 million people or about 18% of the population are already infected with the virus. Experts believe the infection rate could be much higher than the previous daily record of 4 million in January 2022.
