Located at the Harvey Milk Park and Equity Plaza sits a 38 ft tall mural, but did you know that this mosaic piece of art dates back to 1938? On this Long Beach History, join Nadia Gil as she rediscovers a part of Long Beach past.
The Long Beach Recreation Mural was designed by local artist Henry A. Nord to depict the many forms of recreation offered in Long Beach including croquet, picnicking, sailing and fishing. The mural remains open to the public and can be located at 185 E. Third Street, Long Beach, CA 90802. For more information on Harvey Milk Park, visit: www.longbeach.gov.
