The Story of the Evolution of the Galápagos Finches Galápagos Finches are the perfect example of evolution. Their common ancestor first arrived on the islands over two million years ago. Scientists have found out that during that time span, the Galápagos Finches have been evolving, interbreeding, and specialising in response to their environment. It is said that they have evolved into 15 recognized species differing in body size, beak shape, song and feeding behaviour. 👀😲
