A man has been arrested after a woman was injured while trying to stop her car being stolen in Bartley Green.
The white Mini Cooper was stolen, at around midday on Thursday 29th January, after being left on the driveway of the house in Kitwell Lane with the keys in the ignition.
A man then got into the vehicle and started to drive it away, dragging the owner - Nikki Law-Priddey, aged 30 - a short distance as she tried to stop him.
Mrs Law-Priddey suffered bruising and a fractured finger during the incident. She has understandably been left frightened and scared by the incident.
The stolen vehicle was later recovered on Friday 30th January outside a unit on Station Road in Old Hill.
A man, aged 25, from the Weoley Castle was arrested on suspicion of robbery on Tuesday (03/02). He was subsequently released on police bail while inquiries continue.
Detective Constable Stuart Parker, said: "We’re doing all we can to find whoever was responsible and as well as arresting one man in connection with the robbery, we’re also carrying out a forensic examination of the vehicle.
This happened in broad daylight and we would urge anyone who witnessed anything which might be relevant to our investigation to contact us.
We’d also like to remind people there are always opportunistic thieves around looking for an easy steal, and not to leave cars unlocked and unattended, with the keys in the ignition.”
