Today’s video was recorded on the western edge of the East End of London, UK, 11 days before the full reopening of UK hospitality is permitted in England on 17th May which is why many of the shops you see remain closed.
We start by ambling through the Boundary Estate which was first opened in 1900 making it one of the oldest housing estates in the world. We head past Shoreditch High Street overground train station taking in all the graffiti and street art as we pass.
We enter the famous Brick Lane, so called owing to the kiln installed here to fire bricks following a huge spike in demand after the first fire of London in the 16th Century. In more recent time it has become known as a vibrant neighbourhood with many bars, clubs and restaurants. After passing the original Truman Brewery and making our way to the end of Brick Lane we turn left onto Whitechapel Road where our able ends.
