YOU'LL WISH IT WAS ONLY MAKE BELIEVE. Damballa is the ancient voodoo (vodou) deity that granted Charles Lee Ray and others the power to transfer their souls into a new body, so long as it has two legs and a hand for stabbing.

In the Chucky movies, Damballa appears as a powerful strike of lighting in a terrifying storm cloud when called upon using the chant of Damballa. But in this video I'll also explore the "real life" lore of Damballa as one of the lwa voodoo religion and Haitian-Creole culture.

I'll cover his history from the melding of African and European religions, how voodoo moved to the United States, and of course, his entire history influencing the plot of the Chucky and Child's Play movies.
