Three different ways to cook fish. This was my first time cooking gar so I was experimenting with several methods. Also my first time with any of these recipes. Final opinion the tempura recipe was awesome will definitely use on other fish! Sesame recipe was good will use again. Boiled anything will be left to those further south that like to eat bland seafood! Cleaning the gar is tough, too much work for the below average quality of meat. Eat it while it’s hot and have some great dipping sauces and it is palletable. I will eat what I have left but won’t go through the trouble again when our Chesapeake Bay area has so many other fish that offer a superior quality table fare.
