Holding L and R buttons when booting up Crash Nitro Kart GBA leads to unlock a secret Crash rythm game called "Crash Party".
In this game you have to press the buttons A, B, L, R, left, right when the game asks you to do that, while you need to select the right line with up and down on the D-Pad.
It's a very simple rythm game but it can be hard sometimes.
The game is divided in 10 rounds, and any round is divided in 3 phases. You get a crystal by finishing a round. Failing a phase means restarting the whole round. There is no save feature, meaning it's only one go.
If you collect all 10 crystals you get a neat but kinda useless reward: the game gives you 3 rockets on the last Boss Race to beat it easily. Although, is 15 minutes of gameplay (without failing) worth it to unlock a simple power-up in only ONE stage. And what if Velo launches a rocket? You can't avoid it with shield and if you really want a shield, you need to launch all the 3 rockets and probably waste them. It's kinda stupid tbh.
Oh yeah, this minigame is also present in Spyro Orange, also for GBA.
