-Mission Brief-
January 20 - February 11, 1944 — Monte Cassino, Campania, Italy
The Allies brought in reinforcements, determined to open the way to Rome once and for all. General Sheridan, holding the center of their front, provided air support to the Allied columns and helped them advance to the German stronghold at Monte Cassino. Though driven out of a strong defensive position, General von Richter's skillful retreat once again left the Allies with only a partial victory.
