HAL impresses again with its Delivery Rate
As per the latest reports, On 10th April, 2 ALH-DHRUV MK III were inducted into the ICG Air Enclave Bhubaneshwar. If you have been following our updates, every month either 2 or 4 ALH Dhruv MKIII is being delivered to Navy and ICG. We have been always complaining about the rate of production of aircraft by HAL, so its also worth looking just at this year number of ALH Dhruv and how HAL has been consistently delivering the rotorcraft to Navy and ICG.
Delivery of ALH Dhruv MKIII in 2022
On 28th January, 2 ALH-DHRUV MK III were inducted into the fleet of Andaman Nicobar Command in Port Blair at INS Utkrosh.
On 2nd February, 2 ALH-DHRUV MK III were inducted into the Indian Coast Guard (ICG). The choppers was stationed at the Coast Guard Aviation squadron in Kochi.
On 23rd March, 2 ALH-DHRUV MK III inducted by Indian Navy & integrated into INS Parundu in Ramanathapuram district.
On 31st March, 2 ALH-DHRUV MK III were inducted into the Indian Coast Guard Air Enclave, Kochi.
On 10th April, 2 ALH-DHRUV MK III were inducted into the ICG Air Enclave Bhubaneshwar.
So this year, in less than 4 months, HAL has delivered 10 ALH Dhruv MK-III to Navy and ICG. Till date ICG & Navy each have received 12 out of 16 ALH Dhruv MK-III in a phased manner.
ALH Dhruv MKIII contract
The whole process of Induction of ALH MK-III started from March 2017 when HAL had received an order for 32 ALH MK-III for Indian Navy and Indian Coast Guard to replace their aging fleet of helicopters with new improved version of ALH Dhruv MK III. The HAL is in the process of producing and delivering helicopters to the Coast Guard for four bases at Porbandar, Bhubaneshwar, Kochi and Chennai.
ALH Dhruv MKIII Imporvements
The contract involves integration of 19 major systems with the existing ALH MK III that includes powerful Shakti engines, full glass cockpit, new electronic warfare (EW) suite and warning systems, automatic chaff and flare dispensers, improved vibration control system, IFF MKXII & ATC Xpdr with ADS-B Out, V/UHF communication system, traffic alert and collision avoidance (TCAS-I), SAR Homer system, automatic deployable emergency locator transmitter (ADELT), loud hailer, radio altimeter, rescue basket, medical intensive care unit (MICU), IADS system, AFCS, digital video recording system (SSDVR), automatic identification system (AIS), high intensity search light (HISL), pressure refueling system, control grip, EO POD Rev III, surveillance radar system and 12.7 mm gun system.
