NOTE : In this video I say that I believe Mirrors Edge was created as a showcase of the frostbite engine, but became its own product. What I am saying is I believe Mirrors Edge was the result of experimentation in Frostbite, but that the original was moved to Unreal Engine 3 as Frostbite was still in its nascent stages and not as fully featured as Unreal yet. This is just speculation on my part.
This is the first in a series of 3 videos I am doing about Modern 3D platformers, and the first in a new format called Fixed That For You. I have been working on planning this series for months, and have started and scrapped multiple projects before landing on this one. This series will revolve around not just critiquing a game, but also providing viable solutions on how to fix it. This is not to say I could make a better game than these developers, all of these games are impressive in their own right. I hope you enjoy the video!
