At approximately 3 PM on Sunday, December 6, 2020, law enforcement officers from Florida Highway Patrol, Orlando Police Department, Orange County Sheriff's Office, and Osceola County Sheriff's Office responded with Orange County Fire Rescue to the Vineland Premium Outlet Mall at 8200 Vineland Avenue for a reported active shooter situation. According to the initial radio dispatch that the fire department received, a physical fight at or near the Nike store resulted in chaos that spread throughout the mall and towards the food court area, with many individuals claiming to have heard gunshots amid the pandemonium. This led to a major multi-agency response and an evacuation of the mall. Police determined that no shots were fired, nor was any individual found with a gun. Multiple people were arrested in connection with the fight, and the mall was reopened about an hour later.
