Parliament Session: In a significant development, over 40 Members of Parliament from the Rajya Sabha face suspension for the remainder of the Parliament Winter Session, following a voice vote. Earlier, on Monday, 33 opposition members, including Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, T R Baalu, and Dayanidhi Maran, were suspended from the Lok Sabha for disrupting proceedings. The suspension varied in duration, with 30 members facing suspension for the entire Winter Session, while three members, K Jayakumar, Vijay Vasanth, and Abdul Khaleque, faced suspension pending the report of the Privileges Committee. The trio had climbed on the Speaker's podium to raise slogans, leading to their suspension. The motion for suspension was adopted by a voice vote after being moved by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi. The House has been adjourned for the day in the wake of these disciplinary actions.
