The Trinity College Bantams (7-1) host the Wesleyan University Cardinals (6-2) in the final game of the season. If the Bantams prevail and the Williams College Ephs (5-3) upset the Amherst College Mammoths (7-1), the Trinity College Bantams would win their second straight NESCAC crown. Veteran's Day Game 2017:
1) Intro by Jake Donnelly
2) After the Bantams offense goes three and out, Shane Libby picks up his first sack of the day
3) After Libby's sack forces the Cardinals to punt, Sonny Puzzo connects with Koby Schofer for a big gain down the far sideline
4) Puzzo finds Jonathan Girard at the pylon for 29 yard and the first touchdown of the day
5) Bantams defense forces the Cardinals to punt, and Colin Beaulieu returns the punt 50 yards into Cardinals' territory
6) Cardinals defense stops the Bantams on the first three plays and the Bantams attempt a fake punt to Ethan Suraci, but Shayne Kaminski stops Suraci just shy of the first down marker, forces a turnover on downs
7) Mark Piccorillo finds A.J. Girard down the seem at the start of the second quarter
8) John Medina crushes Mike Brueller to break up the pass
9) After the Bantams stop the Cardinals, Puzzo connects with Schofer to get out of the Bantams end zone
10) A screen from Puzzo to Max Chipouras gets the Bantams deeper into Cardinals territory
11) The Bantam drive stalls and Eric Sachse comes up short on a 44-yard field goal
12) Shane Libby tracks down Mark Piccorillo before Piccorillo can get to the stakes, forcing the Cardinals to punt yet again
13) On the ensuing punt, Beaulieu brings it back 22-yards for his second big punt return of the day
14) Chipouras tries to go off-tackle right, but the Cardinals run defense again bottles him up for a loss, Cole Harris and Kaminsy both there to stop the conference's leading rusher
15) Puzzo tries to throw the ball away, but Elias Comacho snares the ball just as he goes out of bounds for the first turnover of the game from other side
16) Shane Libby tracks down Piccorillo for his 1.5 sack of the first half (Sean Smercynski picks up the other half of the sack)
17) Piccorillo connects with Evan Hull for one of the Cardinals' biggest gains of the first half
18) Piccorillo an easy toss to the sideline for the first down
19) Shane Libby and Corey Jean-Jacques combine for the seven yard sack on first and goal, stopping the Cardinals' drive dead in it's tracks
20) Corey Phillips hits a 22-yard field goal to get the Cardinals on the board for the first time in the game
21) Piccorillo somehow finds Mike Brueller in triple coverage for another big gainer
22) Libby once again beats Piccorillo to the sideline, giving Libby his third sack of the day (two solo sacks and two half-sacks)
23) Piccorillo's pass gets deflected at the line, and at the second level, before falling into the hands of John Medina for the Cardinals' first turnover of the day
24) Puzzo places a deep ball down the far sideline right into the hands of Jonathan Girard for 43 yards
25) For the second time on the day, Puzzo connects with Jonathan Girard for the touchdown pass putting the Bantams up 14-3
26) Piccorillo scrambles to find A.J. Girard (older brother of Jonathan Girard) on the near sideline for a good gain
27) A perfect out-route by Brueller gets him open for Piccorillo who puts it on the money
28) A back-foot pass by Piccorillo falls well short of Brueller as Matt Patry picks him off at the goal line for the second interception of the second half for the Bantams' defense
29) Puzzo shows off his escapability and scrambles for the first down on third and long
30) Although called a double-reverse fleaflicker on air, the Bantams pull off the rare (single) reverse fleaflicker throwback, and after all the razzle dazzle, Puzzo hits Chipouras for Chipouras' longest career reception
31) For the second time on the drive, Puzzo escapes the pocket and rushes for the first down on third and long
32) Puzzo caps off the drive with a four-yard touchdown plunge, his fifth touchdown run of the season (and 13th of his career) as the Bantams take a commanding 21-3 lead
33) Dominique Seagears jumps the route and takes it back to house, but the touchdown is called back on a block in the back (the block occurred well after Seagears had passed the man and was at the five as Seageards was entering the end zone)
35) Puzzo hands it off to Koby Schofer on the jet sweep, but Schofer lobs it to Clifford David for the touchdown pass as the Bantams go on to beat the Cardinals 28-3
