We learned how to conjugate "andare", so let's move on to the next irregular verb from the first conjugation, "stare". This one can be confusing, because it means "to be", but in a different way that "essere" means "to be". The former refers to temporary conditions while the latter implies more permanence. In addition, "stare" also means to stay, so there are a lot of uses for this verb!
