Speedrun of "Don't Escape 4", a Point & Click game in which you need to survive 4 different scenarios in an incoming apocalypse.
This is a showcase of what I think is the best possible route for completing the game fast, if you don't go for true ending or any perfect days. Took me some time to plan and route everything.
In the speedruns we can choose a custom game (unlocked after getting the true ending), with specific scenarios for each day. For this speedrun:
1. Day 1 - Gas scenario - The hazmat suit can protect you from 40% of the gas, which is big and can save you lot of time from not doing other actions.
2. Day 2 - Heat wave scenario - In this scenario you can hide inside a cave, instead of your house. The cave provides about 30% protection against the heat, so it's much faster to set it up.
3. Day 3 - Bandits scenario - Dialogue is un-skippable, so I save a lot of time by shooting Sarge and not having to deal with him in any form. Sadly all the peaceful routes here are slow.
4. Day 4 - Fuel consumption scenario - The only difference between this and the other scenario, is that the crack you need to fix is outside the ship instead of inside. The welding kit that you use to fix the crack is heavy, so doing it outside the ship saves you time from not having to get it out.
Other notes:
- You can fix the car in day 1, and it saves you lot of in-game time when you move between places. Fixing the car takes time and is not required for any of the days, so I don't bother with it.
- You can recruit 2 people to your party in day 2, but they are not required for completing the game, and dialogues waste lot of time
- In day 4, not completing it perfectly will kill Cate, and it will save lot of time from not having dialogues on the moon.
This run will give you the "Mostly Walking" and "The Lone Wolf" achievements.
I know this run can be done a bit faster, but I think I'm already close to my limit on this one.
Especially day 4 could be faster by a few seconds.

Recently I played this game and completed all the achievements; and I was so hooked up so I decided to try speedrunning this (despite me generally sucking in point & click games). Turns out, I was having a great time, even though speedruns were draining, both mentally and physically. There are lot of things to remember and focus on during the run, and also lot of mouse button mashing.
I planned on making a bit of post-commentary to try and explain what's going on in this run, but I'm having a bit of a hard time for that right now, and I wanted to continue to other things. So, maybe some other time.
