Between 700,000 and one million migrants are estimated to live in Libya.
The vast majority live outside of detention settings in precarious living conditions (IOM) and are at risk of arbitrary arrest and detention, trafficking, exploitation and intentional violence.
Like the rest of the civilian population in Libya they are at risk of being caught in fighting or indiscriminate attacks. COVID-19 related movement restrictions and insecurity due to the conflict have further affected migrants’ ability to earn a living and the capacities of UN agencies and NGOs to deliver humanitarian assistance.
Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organisation that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters and exclusion from healthcare.
