Dyson Pure Cool tower purifying fans have two fully-sealed filters - a Glass HEPA filter, and an active carbon filter. In normal use, we would expect the filters to last for 12 months if used for 12 hours a day, or 6 months in constant use.

Remaining filter life can be accessed via the built-in LCD screen by pressing the Information button on your remote. It can also be viewed within the Dyson Link app.

It's quick and easy to replace both filters at the same time, or separately if needed. Just follow the steps shown in our video guide.

Step 1. Before changing your filter, switch off and unplug your purifying fan.
Step 2. Slide the buttons down on either side of your machine to remove the outer cover.
Step 3. Remove the filters, insert the new ones and replace the outer cover.
Step 4. You'll need to reset the filter life on your machine.
Step 5. If you've replaced the HEPA filters, press and hold the 'Oscillation' button on your remote control for five seconds.
Step 6. If you've replaced the Carbon filters, press and hold the 'Night-time mode' button on your remote control for five seconds.
Step 7. Your purifying fan will count down from 5.
Step 8 .Once you see the confirmation screen, your filter will be reset and your purifying fan will be ready to use.
