If you've applied for the General Skilled Migration (GSM) visa subclasses 189,190 and 491 and you are claiming 10 points on the GSM Points Test for not having a partner on your Expression of Interest (EOI), know this. If you later enter into a spousal relationship, you may lose those points, even if this is after you receive your invitation apply. This is also regardless of if your partner is skilled and would otherwise be eligible for points. The only exemption to this is if your partner is an Australian citizen or Australian Permanent Resident.
Karl shares more on how it works and some thoughts on this policy.
