This flag football drill is designed to teach the quarterback to lead the receiver. It also provides repetition for the receiver that he must run hard to get open in most situations. Limiting the passing area to a couple spots on the field forces the quarterback to make some throws he may be uncomfortable making in a normal passing drill. Because of the small number of players needed for the drill, you can split your team into two or three groups and run simultaneously.
This drill works the quarterback, receiver, and defense. While you may play zone mostly on defense, in scramble situations, the defensive backs will need to be able to stay with receivers.
You can make a game out of it if you have 2 QBs. Have two teams going one at a time. The team gets one point for completing a pass in the zone. This fun game adds some competition. I generally make the offense pick a receiver and then the defense can pick the defender. Once they go, neither can go again. After everyone has had a turn, switch sides and finish out. The team with high score wins.

I like using the taller cones for this drill ([ Ссылка ]), but you can also use the shorter/flatter cones: [ Ссылка ]
