This has been a productive day for UK and the European Council has approved the agreement. I
would like to thank the European Union for their work, thanks to Michel Barnier and to Jean Claude Junker for their work on this.

This is a great deal for the UK and for our friends in the EU. It is a
deal that means we in the UK can leave the EU together as one United Kingdom; to decide our
future together and to take back control. This means our borders, our money, our laws and allow us to build on our relations with existing partners in the EU. It is therefore an exciting time to move beyond withdrawal and proceed with that project. I am confident that when my colleagues in parliament read the deal, they will want to vote for it on Saturday. This is our chance as democrats to get Brexit done and to then move forward to focus on our own priorities like funding the NHS, increasing funding on education and an expansion of the living wage. This is what our citizens want us to be focusing on. The last three years have been long, painful and divisive - it is time for us and for our parliamentarians, to get this done. It is an opportunity to forge new, progressive partnerships with our EU friends with whom we share many values.
