If you want to get fishing in Valheim, the elusive merchant, Haldor, isn't the only way you can get the fishing rod anymore. *Mild spoilers ahead for those who haven't fully explored the Mountain biome!*
The fishing rod can also be found deep within the frost caves next to a large frozen lake.
