Lateral Ankle Ligaments: Three ligaments attach the lower aspect of the fibula bone (Medial Malleolus) to the lateral foot (calcaneous & talus).
From front to back, they are the anterior talofibular ligament, calcaneofibular ligament & posterior talofibular ligament. Most ankle sprains occur to the anterior talofibular ligament or calcaneofibular ligament.
