Scrapping a transmission! Is it worth it? When making money scrapping metal, a transmission is always a great score. Scrap metal recycling jackpot? They're big and heavy and a large amount of that mass is cast aluminum. Typically metal scrappers would just bring it in the way it sits and cash it out as dirty aluminium, but how much of that weight is actually aluminum? How much are you losing when you don't separate the metals? And how long would it take to do that? In this video I answer all those questions, and you can decide for yourself: Is it worth taking a scrap transmission apart?
