In a floor speech on Monday, senator Chris Van Hollen urged president Biden to "take action" in response to blocking of aid from Gaza by the Israeli army.
Hollen also called the starving of the people in Gaza "a war crime" and those who orchestrated it "war criminals."
According to the UN, many people are on the verge of famine. Additionally, Human Rights Watch has accused Israel of using starvation as a weapon of war.
