The pivotal moment of BioShock, when Jack confronts Andrew Ryan in his office in Hephaestus, and is met with a hefty explanation by Ryan of his true origins. After Ryan chooses to die by his own will by compelling Jack to beat him to death with a golf club, Atlas reveals his true intentions and identity, Frank Fontaine, to Jack after he orders him to insert Ryan's genetic key into the one large control console in Rapture Central Control to stop the self-destruct sequence and to turn control of Rapture over to him. Fontaine then sends hostile security drones to kill Jack, but Jack is saved by a group of Little Sisters, who lead him to an escape route, where he enters a vent only to have it collapse under him and is knocked unconscious as a result.
