On July 3rd at 1:47 PM, the Ventura County Fire Department began to receive reports of a brush fire in the northern part of Simi Valley, off Sharp Rd. On arrival, due to the threat to houses right against the mountain, a second alarm was requested. Through a combination of a major arial and ground attack, the fire was held to around 100 acres and no structures were lost. Units operated through the night with the help of a dozer team from LAFD and multiple CalFire hand crews.
