Karnataka BJP president B Y Vijayendra and several other party leaders were detained in Bengaluru on Friday when they were on way to Mysuru to stage a protest against alleged fraudulent allotment of sites by Mysuru Urban Development Authority, which involves plots given to the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's wife.
They were scheduled to attend a protest rally in Mysuru -- the Chief Minister's home district- and lay a siege to the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) office there.
Vijayendra and other BJP leaders were whisked away in a bus on the Mysuru Road near Kengeri here, even as they sought to resist police action.
