Hi guys Roo from PreparedCamping,
In his excellent book Bushcraft 101Dave Canterbury outlines the principle that when going outdoors you should be able to maintain your thermal comfort, calorie intake and water needs
In a survival situation knowledge is key but some equipment is too complicated or time consuming to fabricate in a reasonable time and you're unlikely to find just laying around
So he suggest so simple basic items covering a range of categories should be carried at all times outdoors, those categories in no particular order are;
1.Cover
2.Cutting Tools
3.Containers
4.Cordage
5.Combustion Source
Collectively called the five C's of survival, this is a little video showing what I carry in my haversack or day pack, the items do change on occasion and this is mainly for illustration purposes in the video
I'd love to hear what you guys thought so please leave a comment or a thumbs up and if you liked and maybe you'd consider subscribing, I can also be contacted via;
