A Rinkhals (haemachatus haemochatus) I caught and released last week up on East Rand near Benoni. Measured approx 1.4m.- biggest I have released up to...
and Particularly beautiful Rinkhals (Hemachatus haemachatus) I found in the most peculiar of ways this past weekend. I dropped my backpack down to photograph a Puff Adder I'd just mistakenly stepped on (without taking a bite, thankfully) and when I lifted my bag a few minutes later the Rinkhals was sitting underneath. One of those crazy herping experiences I won't soon forget!
