Abstract: Whereas - as I’ve argued before - our emotions might not be the gold standard for evaluative beliefs about the world and about ourselves, it might well be the case that the emotions of others are the gold standard for our beliefs about their character. The feelings of others would seem to have testimonial or communicative value that non-affective states do not.
