There are two cocktails that people get confused, while similar they are very different. Today we are making both, this way you can decide which you like better. The first cocktail, the Blue Hawaii was created in 1957 by Harold Yee. It’s blue, balanced and born on the sands of Waikiki Beach at the Hawaiian Village, it also shares it’s name with the 1961 Elvis classic. The other cocktail, a Blue Hawaiian has a history not so clear, some say a variation of the Blue Hawaii, some say a variation of a Pina Colada, some say a creation of Don the Beachcomber.
One thing for sure, they have both made their way into the Tiki Cocktail Hall of Fame. Get behind your bar, grab you Blue Curacao and “Let’s get Pourin!”
