Hmong Tribe village is situated at the top of Doi Suthep and Doi Pui National Park. This place is a home of Hmong hill tribe, which is one of 6 major hill tribes of Northern Thailand.
Formerly, this Hmong tribe community was cultivating opium, but in 1953, the government sent soldiers to eradicate drugs. In 1963 a Thai nationality was given to the villagers and introduced them to lychee cultivation by offering 16 lychee trees for each household. As a result, the villagers stopped opium cultivation permanently in 1972.
Currently this Hmong tribal village surrounded with evergreen forest, and the villagers growing fruits and vegetables.
There is a beautiful waterfall and a garden at the end of the village, and you need to buy a ticket which cost 10 baht, to support area maintenance. Just before the garden you can rent traditional Hmong clothing to have an awesome photo shoot inside the garden.
❇️ [FAQ]
👉 How to get to Doi Pui and Hmong Tribal Village from Chiang Mai?
First you will have to take some transportation to Doi Sutthep temple. You can hire local taxi or red songtaew car from Chiang Mai Zoo (40 THB / person) or in front of Wat Phra Singh (50 THB / per person). Then from Doi Suthep temple you can hire another car as shown in my video, that goes uphill to Doi Pui National Park.
